African Roots

When I was ready to further my studies, I had the desire to be a creator. Being then in turmoil, I had to choose between different studies - fashion, textile, jewellary design, interior styling and landscape architect, which to this day I am still practising. Eventually, my choice of study was Graphic Design at the art academy in South Africa. Before my emigration to the Netherlands in 1999, I first worked at numerous international advertising agencies as Art Director. After obtaining my teaching qualifications in the Netherlands, I practised as a English teacher and in creative education at secondary schools. Since 2019, I made the drastic step to take another path than teaching, and to engulf myself totally in my art, by further discovering and developing my techniques in ceramics and sculpturing.

Being creative

is not a hobby,

it is a way of life.
